This is a wonderful opportunity to come and sing for a day with Durweston Choral Society. In an informal and supportive setting, you can experience taking part in learning and performing work from the classical choral repertoire. This year we are working on excerpts from “Elijah” by Mendelssohn.
Two Masses: Rutter and Langlais, Saturday 23 March 2019 at 7.30pm
The 2019 Spring Concert features two late twentieth century masses which contrast in both style and construction. John Rutter’s Requiem is scored for soprano solo, soprano/alto/tenor/bass (SATB) choir, chamber ensemble and organ. The Jean Langlais Missa in Simplicitate is for SATB choir singing in unison, accompanied by organ.
